- The Streatham branch of the Women's Social and Political Union (W.S.P.U.) awarded the suffragette Leonora Tyson this Holloway medallion. Leonora was the branch's honorary secretary. The medallion commemorates a period of imprisonment endured by Leonora in 1912 as punishment for her participation in the W.S.P.U. window-smashing campaign of March that year. The medallion is inscribed 'LEONORA TYSON/IN REMEMBRANCE OF MARCH 9TH TO MAY 8TH 1912. A TOKEN OF APPRECIATION FROM THE STREATHAM WSPU'.
