Andy Pandy - string puppet
- This Andy Pandy string puppet was used in the BBC TV Watch with Mother series. Andy Pandy was first seen on television in 1950 in a new programme aimed at three- to four-year-old children. Maria Bird and the programme producer Freda Lingstrom created Andy Pandy. The puppet's head is made of moulded rubber. A number of moulds showing slight variations in facial expression were produced before the final version was chosen.
