Aerodrome Hotel, Croydon - list; air services list

This leaflet lists continental flight services arriving in and departing from Croydon Aerodrome in 1931. The Aerodrome Hotel, Croydon, produced the leaflet for its guests. The Croydon Aerodrome opened in March 1920. Regular scheduled flights from the airport carried passengers, mail and freight to France, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. By 1931, airmail services were extended to India and South Africa since Croydon was regarded as 'the gateway to the Empire'. The last flight left Croydon in 1959.
