dressing gown

The Turtles Swimming Club was established in 1964 for disabled swimmers and their families. 'Our swimming club provides a safe and friendly environment for disabled swimmers and their families,' the club wrote. 'The dressing gown, worn by club members, reminds us of the enjoyable swimming galas we have attended and the successes achieved over the years.' The club's badge is stitched to the breast pocket of the white cotton towelling dressing gown and a large green turtle is embroidered in cotton on the back. The dressing gown was donated in 2000.
