Hammersmith Bridge - postcard

Description:
This photographic postcard shows an unusual view of Hammersmith Bridge, looking along the road from one end of it. An N.S.-type open-top motorbus on route 73 to Richmond is on the bridge, and another bus and a horse-drawn delivery cart are travelling in the opposite direction. The bus conductor is on the top deck collecting fares. Hammersmith Bridge, which opened in 1887, was the first suspension bridge to span the Thames.
