Mornington Crescent re-opens at 12 noon - poster

Mornington Crescent station was one of the original stations on what was to become the Northern line. It was opened in 1907, designed in an Arts & Craft style by Leslie Green. The exterior of the building remains virtually unchanged, although the inside has been extensively modernised. Between 1992 and 1998, the station was closed whilst the lifts were updated. This poster was issued in 1998 to advise Underground passengers that the station was due to re-open in April. It shows an aerial view of London, taken from above the Houses of Parliament.
