Upholstered seat cover, as used on refurbished RF-type Green Line coaches - seat fabric

This moquette sample has a horizontal grey and black stripe pattern with a contrasting vertical red stripe. It was used on the Routemaster coaches but also on some other vehicles from the mid-1960s. The single-decker R.F.-type Green Line coaches were used on the longer country coach routes that were operated at the time by London Transport. By the 1960s, they had been in service for about ten years and needed refurbishment. At that time, Misha Black's grey and white design work for the new Victoria line influenced the new interior colour scheme, so this muted grey moquette pattern was adopted for the 175 renewed coaches.
