East London Taxi Drivers' Annual Outing - photograph
- This group of Jewish taxi drivers includes Harry Harris (d.1973), in the third row from the top, second from the right, whose grandson Bernard gave the photograph to the Jewish Museum. Harry became a taxi driver in 1920 after learning 'The Knowledge' on a bicycle. He retired in 1968. He worked mostly at nights except on Fridays, when the Jewish Sabbath begins at sunset. During World War II his wife persuaded him to work days.
